RRRHorse by Dekeve

Done during a dinner at my church in my small sketchbook. The speaker was a woman who owns a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic and recreational horseback riding instruction to special needs children. She loved the drawing and invited me to come to a session to draw the horses.

Elk Creature by Dekeve

This is what happens when I feel the urge to draw in class. Inspired by Yakul from Princess Mononoke. I little photoshop editing here.
Redflash by Dekeve

A character I adopted from DarkAngel613613 of DA. This is it a "paper doll" picture. Meaning that this is for me to try out different outfits and accessories with out having to draw a new picture every time. I just threw in a background, for the heck of it. I may shade it later just for fun.

Medium: Pencil, Photoshop CS3
Tags: fox red orange
Rocket by Dekeve

I called him, Rocket! This is a mock up graphic novel cover, that I did for fun as a graphic design experiment, inspired by Case Closed and my love for animals.

Sleuth is another word for a detective for those who don’t know. A sleuthhound is a dog used for tracking or pursuing. Rocket is both. Rocket accompanies his P.I. owner on cases and leads him to the clues, helping to unravel the criminal mind and apprehend offenders of the law. From murder to missing cats, he is on the case! He is one gifted dog! Go here for a full description.

Medium: Photoshop and Illustrator CS3
Tags: dog rocket Detective sleuth
For Keysan in the Feline Exchange. Her fursona, Key. (Apollo is the name of the axe.) Probably the best cat face I have drawn to date. Trying to work more with anthros and my style. My figure drawing class was more helpful to me than I first thought.

Khanzadeh by Dekeve

This is the finished product of a sketch that I submitted about two weeks ago. Please read the description for the sketch, so I won’t have to repeat myself, thanks. For some reason I felt compelled to finish it. Anyway, as you can see, it’s not my usual shade/highlight style. I wanted to try something new and this the result. The only tutorial I used was this fantastic one http://shoomlah.deviantart.com/art/Coloured-Lineart-Tutorial-56149029 by Shoomlah of DA Everything else I figured out on my own (Yay photoshop grass brush). The anatomy is off but I don’t care, because it a lot longer to finish than I anticipated.

As for the title, Khanzadeh, it’s one of the Persian words for prince. It the title that refers to son of a provincial king (yes I found this on Wikipeda, so if it is wrong, let me know). No this has nothing to do with Bambi, he just looked very regal to me.

Medium: Photoshop CS3
Tags: deer buck tree
Tablet Deer by Dekeve

My friend, ShiverMeTembers of DA inspired me to draw Saturday night. I did this for three reasons, 1) I need more practice drawing with my tablet, 2) I need to loosen up some more when I draw, and 3) I want to draw something other than cats and dogs, I think deer have interesting anatomy, as well as fun to draw. I'm over all please with it, but the anatomy is off, his head is a little too big. This is the second attempt at drawing directly, on my tablet and this is much better than the first try. I hope to do more of these types of drawings, its really liberating and fun. I may finsh or I may not, not sure yet.

Medium: Photoshop CS3 and Wacom Tablet
Tags: deer forest buck
Ziaire by Dekeve

The last picture of the second batch of character art for my story. This is Ziaire, she is Rayber's wife. This is her quad/clan form, she's a Barbary Lion. Basically the same deal with her as with him.

This picture gave me a chance to use my Animal Pose Book. I thought this pose was really cute, so I used it for her. I like this design, she turned out great. Her patterns are symmetrical. Her hair is just like my fursona's, but Ziaire was here first. Her eye's aren't as green as I would like but oh well.
(The “e” in her name is silent, btw.)

And the second picture of the second batch of character art for my story. This is Lunaire, she is Solare's wife. This is her quad/clan form, she's a King Cheetah. Basically the same deal with her as with him.

I loved this pose, I think I did a better job on her picture than Solare’s, I defiantly got better a drawing cheetah faces. Yeah that's a moon shaped spot on her head. Sun and Moon, it's cliché I know, but I don't care. This is my favorite of these three.

Ok, here is the start of the second batch of character art for my story. This is Varena, she is Sage's wife. This is her quad/clan form, she's a Golden Tiger. Basically the same deal with her as with him.

I'm happy with the pose, but I don't feel it has the same quality to it that Sage's picture has. I like her hair but I still need, work on my tiger faces. I really tried this time, but to no avail! Her eye color may change, but I happy with it right now.

Walking in the Snow by Dekeve

My Christmas Card for this year. I have to say I'm very happy with how this turned out. I think my anatomy and shading has gotten better. To be honest, I've never drawn Dekeve's face as a frontal view before. I thought it would appropriate for a snowshoe Siamese to be walking in the snow. This will probably be the last artwork for 2007. Can you find all the snowflakes? Anyway, have a good one! As a last note, laser printers are awesome!

Tanith by Dekeve

This is for DarkAngel613613 of DA of her fursona, Tanith. I'd wanted to draw Tanith for a while and I feel that I owe her a better picture than this (link). I think it's awful now, eew. It's also because I feel that I'm terrible at drawing canines and need more practice at them. DarkAngel was one of my first watchers (beside my real life friends) and has been kind to me since I joined DA. I really appreciate it! Anyway, I hope I got the markings right, it was hard to tell sometimes from the ref. Her front paws look way too small to support any weight and her front legs look too short. T_T . Well, I hope she like it.

All I Survey by Dekeve

My Feline Exchange entry for the month of August. This is ~Ishaway character Baset. She is an Egyptian Mau. “She is a temple cat in the temple of Baset, Cat Goddess of the House. Like all temples her's over looks the mighty Pyramids on the other side of Nile.” OMG, I actually did real media, I mainly do digital work, but sometimes I deviate into traditional color. I just felt like doing something different. I think the Egyptian Mau, is a beautiful breed, it was fun to color her markings. Sorry I was late with this, I hope you like it ishaway!

Looks better in real life, stupid scanner.
